JOHN THOMAS INC. FEATURES SENTINEL™ AUTOMATED FLAGGER ASSISTANCE DEVICE (AFAD) AT BONNELL EQUIPMENT EXPO

 

John Thomas Inc. (JTI) will be displaying its new Sentinel Automated Flagger Assistance Device (AFAD) at the upcoming Bonnell Equipment Expo in Dixon, Illinois on June 5-6.  The Sentinel AFAD removes flaggers from dangerous traffic in work zones and helps contractors save money by increasing worker efficiency.


“Flagging in work zones is one of the most dangerous jobs because flaggers are directly exposed to traffic. Several flaggers are injured or killed each year by errant and distracted motorists who don’t slow down or stop. Using an automated flagger assistance device keeps flaggers out of harm’s way and allows the flagger to be assigned to other duties in the work zone,” says Ben Dvorak of JTI.

The Sentinel AFAD is highly visible and features a signal head with red and yellow lights and a gate arm to control traffic. It includes the Galaxy® AFAD Controller, which provides the full range of flagger functionality and can be operated via wireless remote control by a certified flagger. The AFAD has a self-contained battery power supply with optional solar recharging.

The Sentinel AFAD is available as a towable Type 4 trailer or on a compact wheeled base. The system is designed for superior mobility and is the easiest to load, unload and deploy AFAD available.
